Who runs the site

This site is a personal, non-commercial project run by the developer of Obskura, who signs with the pseudonym overminder. The site sells no products or services, contains no advertising and collects no personal data. Obskura is distributed free of charge.

Nature of the site

The site is not a news outlet and is updated without any regular schedule; it is therefore not an editorial product under Italian Law 62/2001. Its contents are for information about the Obskura software only.

Software licence

The Obskura application downloaded from this site is free and may be used by anyone, for any purpose, including professional or commercial use. It may be redistributed free of charge only unmodified and naming this site as the source; it may not be sold. The source code is published for verification under the PolyForm Strict 1.0.0 license: you may read it, build it and use it for noncommercial purposes, but not modify or redistribute it. The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In no event shall the authors be liable for damages arising from the use of the software.

Responsibility for data

Obskura encrypts data on your device with keys only you know. Without the master password, the key file (if used) and, to find key files and backups automatically, the Obskura access key, the data cannot be recovered by anyone. Keep this information carefully and make backups.

Trademarks

Bitwarden, 1Password, LastPass, Proton Pass, Dashlane, Keeper, KeePass, Windows, macOS and the other names mentioned are trademarks of their respective owners. They are mentioned only to indicate compatibility; Obskura is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

Content, translations and links

The information on the site is provided in good faith and may contain inaccuracies or be out of date. The versions in other languages are translations: in case of differences the Italian text prevails. Links to third-party sites (for example the services you can import passwords from) are provided for convenience: the operator does not control their content and is not responsible for it.

Texts, images and graphics of the site belong to the developer of Obskura; the application and its source code are covered by “Software licence” above. For reports, removal requests or infringements, write to overm.ai.nder@proton.me.
