Obskura – language files
========================

Each file
.xml contains every text of the Obskura app (interface, messages,
errors) in one language. Obskura 0.3 ships with: it, en, de, es, ru, zh, ja, ar.
At startup the app uses the system language; if it is not available, English.

Add a new language
------------------
1. Copy en.xml (or the language you translate from) to a new file, e.g. fr.xml.
2. In the
element change:
code language code: fr, pt-BR, ... (BCP 47)
name name of the language in the language itself: Français
     english-name name in English: French
dir "ltr", or "rtl" for right-to-left scripts (Arabic, Hebrew, ...)
3. Translate the text of every <string> element. Save the file as UTF-8.
4. In Obskura: Settings > Language > "Import language file (XML)...".
The language appears immediately and is used automatically on systems
set to that language. Imported files live in the app data folder
   (languages/
.xml) and apply to that computer only.

Rules
-----
- Never change the key attribute.
- Keep placeholders in braces as they are: {count}, {name}, {path}...
- Keep the tags ,
, , <kbd>,
where they appear.
- Escape & < > as & < > (or use ... ).
- Plurals: keys ending in .zero .one .two .few .many .other follow the Unicode
CLDR plural rules of the language. Use the forms your language needs; .other
  is mandatory.
- Missing strings are shown in English, so a partial translation already works.

Correct a built-in language
---------------------------
A file whose code is that of a built-in language (e.g. de.xml) does not replace
it: it only overrides the strings it contains. It is marked "corrections" in the
settings and can be removed with the × button.

Settings > Language > "Export XML template..." saves the complete file of the
current language, including any corrections.
